IDE-2024 Introduction to Deaf Education
This course provides students with the basic knowledge Deaf Education, Deaf culture, and the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). Students will analyze prevalent myths related to Deaf and other hearing impaired people as well as the cultural impacts of being Deaf. Information discussed in this course is designed to help DHI students in regards to education, culture, and linguistic needs by educating teachers on how to identify and cater to their specific needs.
APE-2-24 Adaptive Physical Education SEN
Adaptive Physical Education (APE) is a specialized program that caters to the unique physical education needs of students with disabilities. Individualized plans are created to address each student's specific abilities, interests, and goals. Trained professionals work closely with students to provide support, using adapted equipment and techniques to ensure full participation. APE promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and overall well-being, boosting self-esteem and confidence. This inclusive approach opens doors to new opportunities for students to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
