RATIONALE:

In real life, mathematical application underpins almost every discipline. Similarly

in our schools, teachers will directly or indirectly need to use mathematics

related concepts when relating to learners. Hence, it is very important that all

teachers are provided with the basic theoretical knowledge of this subject.

COURSE DURATION & STRUCTURE

This course will be offered over a period of three semesters. The course content

is broken down into three units. One unit will be completed each semester. The

topics that are to be completed in each unit are as follows:

Unit 1: Computation, Consumer Arithmetic and Number Theory.

Unit 2: Sets, Measurement, Geometry and Algebra.

Unit 3: Geometry, Relations Functions & Graphs and Statistics.
