TTE213 Workshop Organization and Management
Workshop Organisation and Management is specifically designed to assist vocational /technical teachers, instructors, and technicians to become competent in organising and managing vocational workshops. It provides educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to set up and manage a workshop efficiently. It focuses on putting safety measures and workshop ethics into practice to reduce the risk of accidents and foster safe work practices in the workshop. It also includes record keeping and documentation for scheduled maintenance of machinery, proper handling and storage of tools, equipment and materials, proper storage and correct procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous waste.
TTE211 Occupational Health and Safety
This course is designed to provide trainees with basic information, resources, discussion questions, and interactive opportunities that motivate an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety. A range of conceptual and practical issues on occupational health and safety discussed in the course, on the one hand, could be tested in the laboratory (workshop) and, on the other hand, enriched by networking with practitioners in other TVET institutions or industry.
The course material is specially designed and developed into five Units to meet the goal of the course and the special requirements of distance mode of education. These Units are:
Unit 1: Laboratory (Workshop) Equipment
Unit 2: Hazardous Materials
Unit 3: Pressurized Units
Unit 4: Personal Safety
Unit 5: First Aid
