Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Levels in the education system.
It is one of the core education courses which is
offered to all teacher candidates in the first semester of first year of the Associate

This course prepares teacher candidates to understand the purpose of
a school based curriculum, two of which are that learning is achieved under the
direction of able, qualified and experienced teachers and that learning will be
of greatest value to the learners.
This course is designed to equip teacher candidates
with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to function effectively
and efficiently to meet the needs of the learners in their charge.
EDU 241 Behavioural Analysis and Classroom Management
This fourth-semester course would equip student teachers with the knowledge that would enable them to identify misbehaviours among students in the classroom. It would equip them with teaching skills that would enable them to modify such behaviours.
In addition, an exposure to this course would develop in the student teachers the knowledge and skills of classroom management as they relate to creating quality child friendly learning environment that would enable students to develop their full potentials.

Adolescent Psychology is offered during the first year, semester two (2), to
all teacher candidates enrolled in the secondary programme.

a myriad of changes that occur during this stage of life that often makes it
challenging for the adolescent. Thoughtful, caring guidance is necessary to
help them to successfully navigate through adolescence. This course is geared
to help equip our teacher candidates with the basic skills to understand, plan
, and work with their adolescent learners.
EDU 242 Differentiated Instruction and Multigrade Teaching
This is a fourth-semester course. It is designed for students to interact actively with the course material. Self directed learning rather than instructor lectures, will make up the bulk of in-class sessions. In order to successfully complete this course, you must thoroughly read all of the assigned readings and complete all assessments before arriving at class triweekly. The synchronous class sessions will be offered either face-to-face, virtually, or via a blended approach. Your lecturer will further inform of this. Have fun learning!
